Our Year 1 teacher is Mr Graham Blythin who is assisted in the classroom by Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Miss Naomi Foulkes.
My name is Graham Blythin and I have been a teacher since September 2009. I trained at Liverpool Hope University on a 2-year PGCE whilst also working at St Asaph VP Infants as Behaviour Support 1:1 and also in the Afterschool Club. I enjoyed training placements at Nercwys School teaching a combined KS2 class and then at Hawarden Infants teaching Year 2. I also spent time around all the classes at Ysgol Borthyn in Ruthin.
Apart from teaching Years 1 & 2 at the VP, I also completed an 18 month secondment at Ysgol Melyd, teaching all KS2 children, it was a fantastic opportunity for me and I still have friends there now.
I love my job, and although it is extremely challenging, I take an immense pride in seeing our children grow academically and as people. My favourite, favourite thing is helping children learn to read and enjoy books.
In my spare time, I spend time with my wonderful wife and 4 gorgeous boys, Sam, Robbie, Harri and Mark, and when I can I like to socialise, cook, play sport, listen to music, read and follow my beloved Liverpool Football Club!
I am very lucky to be part of such a wonderful school that helps our wonderful children.
My name is Naomi Foulkes and I work as a Teaching Assistant in Year 1. I have worked at the V.P. since 2003. I started off in the After School Club and Breakfast Club before successfully achieving a full time position in the Reception Class where I worked for 8 years before moving into Year 1 in September 2014.
I have two daughters, Bethan and Hannah, so family time is a great way to spend my weekends. We all enjoy going for walks, eating out, playing games, singing and dancing! and now I am often found at the side line of either a netball court or football pitch!
I have recently joined a local gym where I enjoy going to various classes, improving both my health and fitness.
